About the Author

Yvonne Riley Bonadio has a big heart for children. She yearns to share God’s love with them through her writing.

Yvonne has two daughters, Yvette and Belle. When her girls were young, she searched for a book that would simplify Biblical truths, and help them develop a strong Christian foundation. When she couldn’t find such a book, she wrote Jesus A to Z in hopes of filling that gap. Jesus A to Z went on to win the Silver Medallion Award in the Children’s Category at the 2004 Christian Booksellers Convention. Her next title, Names of Our Father, introduces children to The Lord’s Prayer and teaches them about God the Father, and His divine character through His Hebrew names implied throughout The Lord’s prayer.

Yvonne’s eldest daughter, Yvette, often spoke of having her very own leopard when she got to Heaven. On April 1, 2000, two weeks before her eleventh birthday, Yvette was in a car accident and went to live in Heaven with Jesus. And surely, she has a leopard. Yvonne has found comfort envisioning dear sweet Yvette walking in paradise with her friendly leopard, the pet she dreamed about since age seven.

Yvonne’s new book, A Letter from Heaven, features Yvette writing a letter to her earth-bound mother about the fantastic adventures she is experiencing in God’s Kingdom. It’s the ultimate love letter. The descriptions of Heaven, paired with amazing illustrations, are based on scripture and allow us to imagine the absolute glory and beauty of life and eternity with our Lord.

Yvonne lives in Newport Beach, California with her husband, Richard, and their two dogs – Brooklyn, and Duchess. Her surviving daughter, Belle, is married and has recently blessed Yvonne with two adorable grandsons. When Yvonne is not writing, she’s at the dog park, caddying for her husband on the golf course, or playing with her grandsons.

It is Yvonne’s deepest desire to bring children closer to God. She also hopes, through her writing and speaking engagements, that those who have lost a child will find comfort and peace.
